Cognac Blues Passions - 3-8 July 2012
Nestled on the banks of the pretty Charente river, the historic town of Cognac is known the world over as the home of delicious ‘amber nectar’.
But if you’re a music fan, the name Cognac means just one thing and that’s Cognac Blues Passions, an annual summer festival that showcases exciting new talents in blues, jazz and afro-american music alongside top international performers.
Amongst the atmospheric venues are parks, bars and even a medieval castle courtyard, in Cognac and neighbouring Jarnac.
Headliners in 2011 included ZZ Top and Texas, Moby and Jamie Cullum, and more crowd-pullers are guaranteed for the five days and nights of the 2012 festival which takes place from 3-8 July.
As Cognac Blues Passions approaches its 20th birthday in 2013, the audiences just keep on growing - an essential date on any music fan’s summer calendar …
