Situated on the outskirts of Poitiers, Futuroscope has been synonymous with moving image technology since it first opened its gates in June 1987.
Since then, it has welcomed more than 35 million visitors, making it the second largest leisure park in France. But Futuroscope is dramatically different from other theme parks, its attractions based on the senses and in particular, on our sense of vision.
With giant screens, dynamic cinema shows, and innovative interactive experiences, this is a park that appeals to everyone. And as only a handful of attractions have height restrictions, the whole family can share in the experience – and the holiday memories.

Never content to rest on its laurels, Futuroscope is constant ly pushing the boundaries to create exciting new experiences for visitors, and three major new attractions will be showcased in 2010.
Climb aboard a giant ladybird or “ladybuggy” to enjoy Arthur, the 4D Adventure, an all-action animated film projected in relief on a vast IMAX dome. Created by celebrated movie director Luc Besson (“The Fifth Element” and “Nil By Mouth”), it follows the adventures of Arthur in the miniature land of the Minimoys.
To celebrate the launch, any child named Arthur will enjoy free entry to the park this year on production of ID.

Futuroscope’s indoor imaging experiences make the park into a yearround attraction the weather can’t spoil, but there are plenty of outdoor areas where you can relax in the fresh air and take in the array of eye-catching buildings. Bring a picnic, buy from a range of competitively priced takeaways, or try one of the six themed restaurants.
Younger visitors will love Children’s World, a safe outdoor play area with more than 20 fun activities that can be enjoyed independently or shared with the family. Ride on water bikes or drive an electric car round a road circuit. Play a giant outdoor xylophone, ride the zip line, or have fun on the climbing frames.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a panoramic view of the park, as well as the unusual buildings of the adjacent science and technology park, from the revolving platform of the Gyratour.
Then as night falls, take your seat in the openair stands around the lake for the spectacular Blue Note Mystery, a 25-minute extravaganza of lights, music and fountains, that is included in the ticket price. Launched in 2009, the show was devised by Yves Pépin, artistic advisor for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, and many other high-profile, multi-media events.
Follow the story of the funky DJ who goes in search of the pure blue note which appears fleetingly as a beautiful face shimmering above the water, only to disappear again. And enjoy a journey through a multicoloured world brought vividly to life by laser effects, graphic waves and an unforgettable sonic ballet.
Unmissable.
