In addition to nautical activities, it allows for the practice of diversified types of fishing: casting or fly-fishing along the Charente river or in Lakes Lavaud and Mas Chaban, sea fishing or shellfish picking on the foreshore or in the Gironde estuary, traditional eel fishing in the Poitou marshlands, learning or perfecting fishing techniques at the international nature and fishing center « Pescalis » in Moncoutant, Deux-Sèvres, or else trout fishing in the 2020 kilometers of rivers and streams in Vienne department (Anglin, Clain, Gartempe, Vienne).
Located in northwestern Deux-Sèvres, the international center 'Nature and Fishing" of Moncoutant welcomes fishers and lovers of fresh air and open spaces. Seasoned and neophyte fishermen can likewise choose among the different formulas proposed. Big game fishing with areas specially equipped for round-the-clock activity; "fly-fishing" in varied locales facilitating catches of perch, pike, trout, salmon, etc.; "carnivorous space' with paths for tracking down pike, pikeperch and silurid; "still fishing' for the adepts of fine fishing or those in quest of the 'big catch'.
Pescalis is also a tourist center offering food and accommodation.
