Renowned in our times as the capital of the image and, more particularly, of the comic strip, Angoulême likewise became the capital of paper as the Middle Ages drew to a close.

Opening of the new International Comic Strip Museum the 20th of June.
The museum’s permanent collection will cover 1,300 sq m of space organised into four areas: the history of the cartoon from 1831 to today; A design workshop showing the different techniques for cartoon production with master-classes from visiting cartoonists; An exhibit of the masters of the drawn line investigating the aesthetics of the cartoon and finally; A regular series of quarterly temporary exhibitions.
